we are blogging LIVE from the waffle house about 30 minutes north of nashville in tennessee. WE LOVE TENESSEE!! the people are so nice, the foliage is gorgeous and the nightlife was so fun last night. recaps are necessary... we've been busy and neglectful and we're sorry goddammit.
memphis: we took it in for a whole hour. we love beal street and the big city blues cafe. reb had pork ribs (gross) and i had southern fried catfish. it was real down-home food with blues playing and lots of nice folk running around. beal street is a closed street with a bunch of bars and southern food joints, all with blues pumping out, spilling into the street. it would have been great to spend a night there and bar-hop but we had a hot date with nashville and we were running late.
nashville: we rolled in around 11:30, checked in and headed down to 'the strip' on broadway, where we were welcomed with a few hoppin' bars, all with live music and really drunk (but super nice and fun) people. we had the best night. we danced and drank jack daniels and watched all the southern folk get their groove on. it was awesome! photos to come.
the weather is bad. it's been pouring and the roads are so wet. we're pusing through though. everything is great!
